Overview
The Bay Area Center for Faith, Work & Tech (faithworktech.org) is a Christian non-profit ministry in the San Francisco Bay Area, founded in 2024. Our mission is to cultivate faith and work integration in the Bay Area to transform people who are transforming the world.
We are seeking an Executive Director (ED) to help continue our momentum and advance our mission and platform. Reporting to the President and the Board of Directors, the ED will contribute to strategy, lead operations, and execute the vision of FWT.
The role is a full-time position involving in-person work in the San Francisco Bay Area with remote work. Salary will be commensurate with experience – – target range is $140,000-170,000.
Duties & Responsibilities
Strategy
● Collaborate with founding partners and the Board of Directors to define, refine, and execute the organization’s strategic vision across key areas: program development, content, events, and community engagement
● Shape and evolve core organizational elements, including values, target personas, business model, strategic plan, and KPIs to ensure alignment with mission and impact goals
● Develop and manage financial strategies, including forecasting, budgeting, cash flow management, and financial platform oversight, to support sustainable growth
● Assess and plan for medium- and long-term staffing needs to ensure the organization is positioned to fulfill its mission effectively
● Cultivate and lead a team culture that embodies the organization’s values, fostering a collaborative, mission-driven environment
Programs
● Oversee the development and implementation of the Missional Vocation Pathway (MVP) curriculum for church partners
● Oversee the development and implementation of other church programs, led by a Program Manager
● Lead the development, research, testing, and implementation of work-first programs
● Oversee the development and implementation of the content strategy
Operations
● Serve as the primary POC for Board of Directors and Advisory Council
● Oversee all HR Operations, including hiring, staffing, and volunteer management
● Oversee all marketing and communications (website, social media, newsletter), led by a Community Engagement Manager
● Manage CRM and constituent tracking
● Coordinate event planning, including annual Summit and other events with help of Community Engagement Manager
● Oversee all financial, legal, insurance operations
Community Engagement
● Represent organization and its mission to the Bay Area community
● Oversee church partnership engagement
● Develop and maintain non-church partner and program participant engagement including developing engagement strategies, networking to identify and cultivate relationships, exploring and developing collaboration and participation opportunities, etc.
Fundraising
● Develop and lead fundraising strategy
● Oversee fundraising operations, including all donor relations
Requirements
● Seven or more years of experience in management roles
● Experience with faith-based non-profit organizations preferred
● Experience with technology industry preferred
● Proven success working with multiple diverse stakeholder groups including donors and a board of directors
● Capable of contributing both strategy/planning and operations/execution
● Outstanding communication and collaboration skills
● Strong product development, marketing, and community/partner relations experience
● Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, and operationally-minded
● Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization as it evolves and scales
● Believes in and supports the vision, mission, and values of the organization
Other Requirements
● Is available to work during normal business hours as well as some evenings and weekends as programs and events require (exact working hours can be flexible; some work will be remote/not in-person)
● Identifies as a Protestant Christian
● Lives in San Francisco Bay Area
